The short version
We set two kinds of cookie. Essential ones make the site work — they run whatever you choose. Analytics ones tell us which pages people read, and they only run if you press Accept all. If you choose Essential only, no analytics cookie is ever set, and any that were already there are deleted.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep. It lets a site remember something between page loads — that you have already answered this banner, for instance. Cookies cannot read other files on your computer or run programs.
The cookies this site uses
Strictly necessary
These run without asking, because the site cannot work without them. They set no advertising identifier and are not shared.
- joefex_consent — remembers which choice you made on the cookie banner so you are not asked on every page. Set by us. Lasts 6 months.
- PHPSESSID — a session identifier, used only when signing in to the site's admin area. Set by us. Deleted when you close the browser.
Analytics — only after you accept
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It is not loaded at all until you press Accept all — declining means the script never runs.
- _ga — distinguishes one browser from another so repeat visits are not counted twice. Set by Google. Lasts 2 years.
- _ga_<id> — keeps session state for the same purpose. Set by Google. Lasts 2 years.
Live chat
Our chat widget is provided by Bitrix24. If you open the chat, it stores identifiers so your conversation survives a page change. These appear only once you interact with the chat.
Server logs
Separately from cookies, our server records each page view: the page, where you arrived from, your browser, and a shortened version of your IP address. We remove the last part of the address before storing it, so it identifies a rough region and network rather than a specific connection. We keep this to understand traffic and to investigate abuse. It is not used for advertising and is not sold or shared.
What we cannot see
None of the above tells us who you are. An abbreviated IP address and a browser name are not an identity. We only learn your name or contact details if you type them into our contact form or tell us in the chat.
Changing your mind
Use the Cookie Settings link — it is also at the bottom of every page — to reopen the banner and choose again. Switching from Accept all to Essential only deletes the analytics cookies immediately.
You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site working.
